Every weekend, beginning Friday, crazy-for-books.com hosts the Book Bloggers Hop give bloggers a chance to meet other book bloggers and gives readers a chance to access almost 200 blogs in one fell swope!
Head on over there and then most weeks I am going to list some of the sites I found intriguing.
I did manage, finally, to finish Magic Bites by the pseudonymous Ilona Andrews (really a husband wife team). I still found the story fragmented, with elements introduced very conveniently, or salvation occurring off stage when all was surely going to be lost. It got a bit quicker but there was still precious little back story. I do not intend to read more of the series. It is unusual for a book to take me more than a day or two and I think this took about five.
I noticed that one blogger had obtained many cards from other bloggers at a conference. I wanted to share my business cards with you. They are called “moo cards” from moo.com. These are about half as tall as a regular card and are very reasonably priced. You can have tons of designs in one set up and they have lots of designs to choose from or you can use words or you can upload your own stuff. Get 15% off with the code DA7001.
I read a Kindle sample of the new Meg Cabot, Insatiable today. It might be interesting. And, then I began on Marta Acosta’s Casa Dracula series (Marta if your reading this — see I said I wanted to read you and now I am!). She is at the Vampire Wire link. So far it seems much less grim than the Ilona Andrews, which I could sure as heck use!
I am thinking of doing a live, running commentary during the True Blood Season 3 premiere )at 9 PM (EST) Sunday on HBO and HBO HD). If you can’t watch it then I am sure it will be on many times during the next week.
