Finally recovering from a devastating divorce, Charley is given the opportunity of a lifetime when she’s offered a job shooting photographs for an Alaskan cruise catalogue.

Kyle loves his life. The ship’s playboy first officer has his future all worked out and it doesn’t involve falling for the beautiful new photographer.

The two find passion and comfort on the high seas and Charley learns the joys of being completely uninhibited when the partner is just right. But in eight short days she’s going to walk off the ship and Kyle’s going to start his next voyage without her. Can Kyle prove to Charley that they’re more than just hot sex? Sacrifice is the only way to stay together, but the price might just be too high.

Exclusive Scenes from Alaskan Exposure: Only on Fangs, Wands & Fairy Dust

by A.S. Fenichel

What does Charley pack for her cruise?

Jules lounged across Charley’s bed and watched her friend pack, long underwear, a turtleneck sweater, a down vest and a heavy coat. “You know this cruise is in August, right? It may be to Alaska, but I don’t think it’s going to be sub-zero weather.”

“I’m from Florida. I might be cold, Jules.”

“Where are your evening gowns?”

“I don’t think I’ll need them. I’ll be working.”

Jules leaped off the bed, flipped her long dark hair over her shoulder and went directly to Charley’s closet. She pulled out dress after dress, the skimpy, sexy ones she held on to. Anything the least bit practical or demure went back on the rack. When she returned to the bed, she thrust the hangars in Charley’s direction. “You will need them. You will make an attempt to have a good time on this trip and you might even try to get laid.”

“Jules.”

“Don’t ‘Jules’ me. You need to get laid. I definitely need to get laid. Everybody needs to get laid.”

Charley couldn’t help laughing at her friends rising enthusiasm. “This is not a vacation for me. I’ll be working. Believe me, I’m thrilled you’re coming along and I hope you have a great time and even…”

“Get laid,” Jules supplied.

“Yes. I hope you find a nice guy to spend time with, but I will be very busy finding the perfect shots for the cruise line’s catalogue. This could be a big opportunity for me.”

Jules shrugged. “I’m pretty sure you will have plenty of time to take the perfect shots for the catalogue and if I know you you’ll get some fantastic art shots too. I’m also positive that you will need nice clothes for the ship. So you go ahead and pack your parker but you will also pack these dresses especially this little black halter.”

Charley shook her head. “Why the halter dress?”

“You really don’t know?” Jules didn’t wait for a response. “Because in that dress you are irresistible to anyone with a pulse and you are sure to get laid.”

What does Kyle pick up in port?

“Kyle.” Steve called from across Pikes Place Market.

Kyle waved at the ships executive chef and crossed the street. “Picking up a few things before we disembark tomorrow?”

“Yup. You?”

“Yeah, just headed back to the ship.”

“Where’d you go? Condom run?” Steven smiled wide.

Kyle laughed. “Funny. I was at the book store.”

“Books?” They headed back toward the ship.

“I can read.”

Steven slapped him on the back. “I assumed you could, but all evidence has pointed toward you preferring spending your off hours engaged in a less relaxing activity.”

The chef was laughing pretty hard at his own joke. Kyle couldn’t really argue with him. He shrugged. “I like women. I don’t apologize for that.”

“No reason to, buddy. Why the change in hobby ?”

Kyle didn’t like the idea of his passion for women being called a hobby, but he ignored the remark. “Last cruise before we put in for maintenance and then head to the Panama Canal, I thought I’d relax and read a little.”

Steven chuckled again. “Good luck with that.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Kyle never got an answer. They arrived at the gangplank to the ship and had to show their security passes before the two men headed in opposite directions on the enormous vessel.
