ABOUT LAST NIGHT Review Redux with Giveaway

I am hoping to read Ruthie Knox’s TRULY in its totality soon and thought it would be good to revisit my review of another of Ruthie’s books. TRULY was serialized free on Wattpad last fall and released recently-ish as a full novel. I would place ABOUT LAST NIGHT and TRULY as my favorite Ruthie Knox tales. I liked this so much, and thought it was so steamy that I made my husband read it.I love it so much I am offering one US Winner a Nook or Kindle copy of ABOUT LAST NIGHT by Ruthie Knox. See below the post to enter.

My Take!
Earlier this week  I read ALONG CAME TROUBLE by Ruthie Knox. A reader suggested I try ABOUT LAST NIGHT, and I want to thank her for the suggestion. I LOVED THIS BOOK!  I am starting with my opinions first

In this business I see a lot of erotica that is poorly written; there’s a lot of “Cv^t” and “Pussy” a lot of ugly language and emotion can be used to describe sex and love and even loving intimacy can be made tawdry in a few words.  Instead of being erotic it may make me shudder, and not in a turned on way.

It’s rare, unusual and exciting to see something as erotic and well written as ABOUT LAST NIGHT.  It’s  a book that delivers that frisson of erotic enchantment that only the best steamy romance or erotica writer can achieve.

Sure, opposites attract, but in this sexy, smart, eBook original romance from Ruthie Knox, they positively combust! When a buttoned-up banker falls for a bad girl, “about last night” is just the beginning.

Cath Talarico knows a mistake when she makes it, and God knows she’s made her share. So many, in fact, that this Chicago girl knows London is her last, best shot at starting over. But bad habits are hard to break, and soon Cath finds herself back where she has vowed never to go . . . in the bed of a man who is all kinds of wrong: too rich, too classy, too uptight for a free-spirited troublemaker like her.

Nev Chamberlain feels trapped and miserable in his family’s banking empire. But beneath his pinstripes is an artist and bohemian struggling to break free and lose control. Mary Catherine—even her name turns him on—with her tattoos, her secrets, and her gamine, sex-starved body, unleashes all kinds of fantasies.

When blue blood mixes with bad blood, can a couple that is definitely wrong for each other ever be perfectly right? And with a little luck and a lot of love, can they make last night last a lifetime?

square "my take"You know that feeling when you are so loving a book that you gobble up the pages and yet want to savor every one.  You know when you are riding the high the characters are on and then the foreshadowing happens and you think, “Oh no, something awful is about to happen and I don’t want to feel the way it’s going to feel.” I fell so in love with the story and the characters that I could have read it forever and was sad that my Kindle said there were forty minutes left but there were no forty minutes to be found!!! And it was actually well-written too.  There’s a plot and a story — not just sex.

There’s even some museum atmosphere. There’s a little bit of Britishness that we Americans love so much — but not enough to make us start a revolution. I was trying to find a way to use “Downton Abbey” in the title of this post but couldn’t come up with one.

This is the perfect book for every woman who has waited for love, waited for the right guy.  Nev is perfect and flawed.  While Cath is flawed and perfect.  He is patiently waiting for her to open up, he makes love to her beautifully. Every woman should have someone make love to her like he makes love to Cath.  She is waiting for him to turn out to be a mistake, to hate her, to realize she isn’t good enough for him.

She is waiting for the infatuation to wear off and knows that when it does it will be awful.

As I read, I would say the closest I have come to feeling like this about a book was BRIDGET JONES DIARY. As I read, I cast and made this movie in my head (Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Stewart, or Anne Hathaway and Dan Stevens or Benedict Cumberbatch).   I am sad the characters are stuck inside the confines of my Kindle.I have to stop myself from immediately downloading and gorging myself on every book Ruth is Knox has ever written.

What have you done for the love of a book?

This is contemporary Steamy Romance or Erotic Romance at its wicked, sexy best.  This is a MUST READ!
