What if you could have everything you’ve always wanted, but it cost you the life you’ve always known?
Rafe Ranier was my boss and secret crush. A rock musician by night and head of a billion dollar empire by day, Rafe could have any woman he wanted. But I was just the shy secretary he never noticed. For years I obsessed over him, until I finally realized I had to walk away. I needed to leave my secure life behind to discover who I really was.
I never expected Rafe to follow me.
Now I’m on the road with his band, Savage Kiss, and all my secret fantasies are coming true. But I fear I’ve made a huge mistake, because if I get any more attached to a man I can never truly have, my heart will be broken beyond all repair.
“Utterly hot, intense, fierce, and passionate, Opal Carew’s writing is amazing. Top pick!” –The Romance Reviews
First published as a six-part erotic serial, His to Claim is the intoxicating tale of a woman torn between a tattooed, bad boy rock musician and the life she’s always know. Now available for the first time as a complete book, this edition features sizzling new bonus material.
Well, I would say this was one of the worst books I ever read or listened to, but the narrator was competent, and the characters were fairly well developed. But, the billionaire businessman/and rock star and the poor girl is just way overdone unless it is stellar and has something new it is not for me. There’s a BDSM subplot that is pretty amateuri to my mind. There’s talk of D/s but no agreement to terms or safeword. There’s some big time kink in it though. While I still enjoy BDSM books, there have just been too many with this nearly the same set up.
Oh yes, there is something new and unusual, descriptions of nail polish and it’s application . But the weirdness of this particularly trite detail wasn’t enough to make me sing its praises.. Seriously, I do my nails probably a little more than average but, I don’t describe it in detail to my husband or friends.
I also found the sex and the male character’s ego and his commitment issues, and need for sex to soothe his ego ridiculous. Nor did I enjoy the sex scenes. While some of the action might have been novel and passionate the writing was not.
I forced myself to get through it but HIS TO CLAIM did absolutely nothing for me, except check my own nails for chips and snags!Opal Carew’s Website
