Each week on the blog I look forward and back with my friend KIMBA, THE CAFFEINATED BOOK REVIEWER!
My little hormonal issue seems to be setting down this week. Now I have a dry-weather related sore throat.
Seriously, it has gotten so cold there is no moisture in the air. I could rub my hands together to start a fire.
Last weekend we went to see INTO THE WOODS (aghh!! Earworm just from the title, agh!). The only way to kill one earworm is with another and for some reason, apropos of nothing, this catchy tune pops up in my head and is so much nicer than hearing the other. How lovely Joni’s voice is in this! I had a video with just a musical track that had better quality of sound but a video is better, no? And the song reminds me of “Sunday” with it’s allusions to a leisurely time in bed and at breakfast.
This is the new blog design using a theme without a child theme (modified template). Why can’t they just call it a modified template?
That will make it easier to update and such. There’s still room for improvement — I think there always is. I got the theme from themify. They offer all kinds of groovy editors to change stuff around, and lots of shortcodes. But, if you use their buttons and then change to a different company all your buttons revert to code. Yay. great.
I actually ran out of audio books this past week, so I downloaded book six in Gabaldon’s Outlander Series, A BREATH OF SNOW AND ASHES. I LOVE Davina Porter’s voice!
LAST WEEK IN PICTURES:
These are the banners, headers, badges and icons I created last week.
I got four items on the Literary Pickers Challenge: Condom, Frying Pan, a Corset and a Bicycle
I forgot to mention last week that I had picked up one book in the Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge with SPICE by Seressia Glass. I have a review Monday (tomorrow) for the second book I denote for this challenge: BACK TO BEFORE by Traci Solheim.
Monday come back for my review of BACK TO BEFORE by Tracy Solheim.
Tuesday will be a review of Mary Janice Davidson’s UNDEAD AND UNWARY.
Wednesday I will be announcing a new challenge, CLICHE KLATCH that will start on Feb 2 (Groundhog Day). You don’t have to be a blogger to join!
I am rolling around some OUTLANDER Trivia on my tiny little mind.
I am trying to think up some topic for a “History Thing” feature.
Do you have anything in Historical Romance that you’ve wondered about? I also look at things in not-so-historical history, more popular culture. By that I mean stuff that happened in the latter half of the twentieth century.
If you have any questions or ideas for either, I would love to hear about them and try to come up with a post on it.

On Writing as well, Publishing Crawl posted an article on AVOIDING CLICHES by Julie Eshbaugh. It prompted the Cliche Klatch Challenge (above) (http://www.publishingcrawl.com/2015/01/16/avoiding-cliches/)
