As the oldest of the ten Abbott siblings, Hunter prides himself on his ability to solve other people’s problems, but now he has a problem of his own—how to convince the woman of his dreams that his love is for keeps.
As the chief financial officer, Hunter Abbott manages the family’s various business interests while “fixing” things for the people he loves. But the one thing he can’t fix is his undeniable attraction to Megan Kane. Instead, Hunter is prepared to do whatever it takes to show Megan that he’s the man for her.
Megan’s sister rocks her with the news that she and her husband are moving overseas, leaving Megan truly alone. With her sister—and her job at the diner—going away, Megan finds herself leaning on the sexy, button-down accountant who isn’t afraid to lay it all on the line for her. But Megan has watched too many people she loves leave her. Can she risk her heart on Hunter?
This may sound stupid, but I was in love with AND I LOVE HER by Marie Force for the title alone. The simplicity and honesty of it really touch me, more than the song ever did.
What I like the most about this book is that we have this accomplished, together, and awesomely hot character in Hunter who is just crazy for this woman like she’s the other half of the man. She is also cool, except for the I was so hurt before I can never get close to anyone syndrome that forms the basis for the story. What I wanted to shout at her was, you will feel no less pain if you aren’t with him and something awful happens.
Then again it’s a complex emotional connection, where she is so happy to be involved with this family, the relationships she’s been missing since her parents died. And, then again there’s the way the couple feels about each other. And, the sex — it is really steamy and also wrapped up in Megan’s past. I think it will resonate with a lot of women out there — it did with me and I was on the fence about how it Hunter responded.
And, the family is a huge part of this series. It’s a big family and I hope that Marie has a book planned for all the characters. As you know I am a bit removed from my family by age and distance; I kind of understand the draw of this totally loving, sometimes obnoxious group of parents and siblings. They are immensely appealing. Even though they live in a converted barn this family of they aren’t all “John-boy” countrified, they are well-educated and interesting.
Marie brings a lot of lightness, and often real humor into the story through the location, and the somewhat eccentric characters including the town moose, Fred. There’s a great scene at a roadside BBQ joint. It’s like real life, only better and sexier. I wanted to jump in the car and drive the three hours or so it would take me to get to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
For lovers of hot contemporary romance this is a must read. This is part of a series, and while it almost stands on ot’s own, you’ll get the most out of reading the whole thing – at least ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE and I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND which are bound to this one as the majority of the back story.
