Never an Astronaut: The Sunday Post

Today, I am again taking part in  THE SUNDAY POST from The Caffeinated Reviewer. I look forward to it each week! After you hang out here a while, I hope you’ll check out THE CAFFEINATED REVIEWER ‘s link up.

Kimba The Sunday Post

On the 19th I started a four week painting class with my first painting teacher with whom I started painting in the 1990s.  The goal was to be able to paint more and I don’t seem to do it without taking a class.  I used to spend days in my studio painting without music, without TV, without a book on audio. Just me, silence and my painting stuff.  I have missed painting but as blogging took over my life, I kept moving away from it. It is where I really come up against myself even if I am not world-class.  I have had to come to grips with never being the best at anything and I will never be an astronaut –sigh-. What did you want to be when you were a kid?

After a couple of days of really, really heavy rain I did a little yard work too. The morning glory vines have really begun to take off.  We continue to have vole issues.  One actually ran over my foot on my front walk Wednesday. Where are the hawks and fox when I need them?

We learned my mother has decided to have surgery in Manhattan and my husband and I have changed our schedules to go there and take turns while she recuperates in my sister’s apartment. My sisters are also taking their turn.  It is short notice so we had to scramble for a house sitter and change up my husband’s travel schedule.

I finished Darynda Jones’s EIGHTH GRAVE AFTER DARK and started to read the re-release of SLAVE TO SENSATION by Nalini Singh.
I listened to several audio books.

FRIDAY: Afternoon Delight by Anne Calhoun: More than Sex but Less than Hot

I haven’t had much time to go around online at all. And, when I did it was mostly watching cat videos.  I mostly zip to a couple of place on Sunday and then just read and write all week.

I did try an awesome Peach, Basil and Tomato salad from In the Know with Ro and it was really good even though my peaches were not that great. My husband said that he liked it and that he imagined with fresh heirloom tomatoes and good peaches it would be even more awesome.
