Today, I am again taking part in THE SUNDAY POST from The Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a great opportunity to meet up with new and old readers, and other bloggers! After you hang out here a while, I hope you’ll check out THE CAFFEINATED REVIEWER ‘s link up.
I spent very little time in the yard this past week. When I had the time it was raining, and when I didn’t have time it is because I was doing other things like painting for the last session in my four week class. I also used my community’s FB Yard Sale page to find and buy a solid maple secretary for my guest room for $100! I had dental, and several “beauty” appointments.
Over the fourth we entertained our lovely student from the local college. We took her to a party at our friends and everyone enjoyed meeting her. I think she had fun. We were, for once, the “parents” in the group, although she is an adult. We also went with her to the beach. Walk on the beach with a tall, gorgeous nineteen year-old and see what happens; I think I saw some guys drop their footballs and stare gape-mouthed!
We’ve had huge temperature fluctuations this summer, going from 80 to 50 every few days.
I spent most of my Wednesday finishing up the painting in this week’s banner. The “important parts” are all covered so he could be wearing shorts! I only finished one other painting for the class. I am never perfectly happy with my paintings so when I see one in a photo I mostly want to change it! One focus of this class was starting a painting in the studio and continuing it in a different environment, like one’s home.
Here’s what happened on my blog

We’ve been watching POLDARK on PBS and I like it, although the actor playing the lead is a little too “pretty” for my taste, even with his scar. I also find the story hard to follow, of course that could be because I generally work, or pace, while watching. But it is well acted and the locations are beautiful. I remember watching the first one in the 1970s and that there was a big stir about a glimpse of butt on TV.
We have also been watching the PBS program FIRST PEOPLES which looks at the past species of humans who preceded us, and with whom modern humans, homo sapiens, shared the planet for a time. It really made me want to have the DNA tracking done. Have you ever done that?
It’s funny how I always think the stuff on PBS is more “highbrow” or “intellectual” than stuff on other networks. I think I use it to justify watching the TV at all.
My friends at I SMELL SHEEP wrote a hilarious review of MAGIC MIKE XXL here: http://www.ismellsheep.com/2015/07/movie-review-magic-mike-xxl.html
What have you been watching on TV or at the movies?
I received ZERO books this week which thrills me since I am desperately trying to catch up. I only requested one from Net Galley. I finished THE VEIL by Chloe Neill this week too (review 8/3).
Thanks for coming by!
