THE SUNDAY POST: Plenty of Nothing

Today, I am again taking part in  THE SUNDAY POST from The Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a great opportunity to meet up with new, and old  readers, and other bloggers! After you hang out here a while, I hope you’ll check out THE CAFFEINATED REVIEWER ‘s link up.

Kimba The Sunday Post

Between working on house and or gardening projects, painting (art), friend and relatives passing away, Pilates, and mechanical issues with my auto, I have not had much time to hang out online this week.    Therefore, I have plenty of nothing to relate! We did sit outside on Wednesday night for a while after the sky cleared and saw some spectacular views of the Milky Way and three shooting stars (The Pleiades).  I got copies of several new books including Delilah S. Dawson’s new AFTER MIDNIGHT Novella, Molly Harper’s THE SINGLE UNDEAD MOM’S CLUB, as well as several I did not request and will probably not read.

Here’s what happened on my blog this past week.

Last Week!

THE BOURBON KINGS: It’s Not all Mint Juleps & Cotillions in New JR Ward Series

What else can one use to show a book about a family steeped in Bourbon and horse racing?

ONLY A PROMISE by Mary Balogh: A Deep Look Inside a Troubled Hero

War and Gossip are two themes in this story. Both ruin lives. I think the women whispering to each other here look particularly mischievous.

RULES OF CIVILITY by Amor Towles: Best Friends for Now

This book takes place in the Manhattan of the late 1930s: A heady time post-recession and prewar. I looked for images from the period and location.

THE ART OF FIELDING by Chad Harbach: Zen, College and Baseball

This story revolves around the themes I used for my banner: A liberal arts college, MOBY DICK and Baseball.

THE UNDERCOVER SCOUNDREL Offers Another Side of the Story

I used this same image for the author’s guest post this past June.
