I was twelve when I started crushing on him. I was seventeen when I met him by chance and our connection was made. Now here I am, twenty-three, and I’m one of the two actresses in the video for his band’s latest single.

Jesse Kingston is a tall, dark, and gorgeous temptation I’m finding hard to resist. It ends up not being as simple as doing a job and going home. It can’t be when he continually makes his presence known with his not-so-innocent touches and sexy words. There is no avoiding him, and after spending so much time with him, I’m not sure I want to. So, when he proposes a weekend together, I throw caution to the wind and say yes. I’m going to ignore the warning signs and do what I normally wouldn’t. I’m going to indulge my fantasies and give this sexy rocker what he wants and something he won’t soon forget—me.

The only question is: Is one weekend going to be enough? Will our time end up changing this bad boy? Or will it end up changing me?

My Take Oblong

I am an absolute junkie for rock star romance, and am generally willing to suspend, and even upend my disbelief for hot rock stars and their sexy tourbus/mansion/hotel-room high jinks.

And, I enjoyed book one in this series, FALLING DOWN.  I mostly liked Jessie, with his particular character flaws.  I liked the interaction between Lucy and her cousin/sister Sera when they were young, and the opening scene at O’Hare was charming.

But, you have to know going in that this is very steamy and without the sex and booze would, most likely fall into the Young Adult category.  It feels like a fantasy of adult life.  Like Andy Rooney and Judy Garland in an old black & white movie from the 1940s where the exuberant young couple realize how talented they are and decide to put on a show.

Well, Jessie is already a successful rock star and Lucy is an Academy Award winning actress, who really WANTS to be a rock star.  But her mother wants her to pursue acting and so she does. But when she runs into her old crush Jessie while she slums it on a rock video with her top model sister Sera, they decide to jam and well, you can guess what happens next.

This story has crazy rock stars who don’t do drugs (but do get drunk), gay stereotype hair and makeup artists, and. oh yeah, Lucy’s and Sera’s family is mafia.

If Disney writers wrote sexy books (instead of movies) this would be one of theirs.  It’s an over-the-top-silly, sexy, and  stereotyped  guilty pleasure.
